American Premarket for July 18: US stock markets are rising

Futures on US equities surged strongly on Monday amid a reduction in the risks of long-term inflationary pressure and the start of the reporting season. Futures contracts tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed approximately 300 points, or almost 1 percent. S&P 500 futures increased 1.1 percent, and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 1.3 percent.

The recovery happened on Friday, after investors received data on inflation forecasts, indicating a reduction in the risks of preservation in the long term. Long-term inflation expectations of consumers in the United States decreased in early July. They turned out to be considerably better than economists' projections, and the recent drop in gasoline prices helped boost sentiment. Consumers expect prices to climb by 2.8 percent each year over the next 5-10 years, up from 3.1 percent in June. According to the University of Michigan, spending is also anticipated to climb by 5.2 percent next year, compared to 5.3 percent last month. This decreased hopes that the Federal Reserve would be more aggressive during the July meeting. Last week, speculation began to swirl that the Central Bank could hike interest rates by 100 basis points.

Nevertheless, anxieties about the recession remain in focus. Market players believe that the Fed's tough efforts to restrain excessive inflation over the last decades may have inevitably driven the economy to recession. Expectations that the markets will stay turbulent in the near future are also related to the start of the reporting season. A handful of corporations from the financial sector last week showed unclear numbers.

Bank of America has already reported today, providing a mixed report for the second quarter. Earnings left 73 cents per share, against analysts' forecast of 75 cents. However, revenue amounted to $ 22.79 billion against $ 22.67 billion. Against this background, the shares declined by 1.7 percent in the premarket.

Reports from Johnson & Johnson, Netflix, Lockheed Martin, Tesla, United Airlines, Union Pacific, Verizon, and many other corporations are coming this week.

As for the technical image of the S&P 500

After a wave of stress and a modest decline in panic moods, purchasers took advantage of a fantastic opportunity to buy on the cheap market. Now they are focused on the $ 3,905 level, the breach of which will allow the purchase cycle to resume while preserving hope for a swift recovery to $ 3,942. Above this level, we will see a very active growth of the index in the vicinity of $ 3,975, when major sellers will come to the market again. At least there will be those who wish to fix profits on long bets. A more distant aim will be the $ 4,013 level. In the case of a modest pressure generated due to weak business data, purchasers will have to defend the nearest support of 3,872. Having missed this level, the index will decline to $ 3,835 and 3,801. A little below is a more stable level of $ 3,773, where buyers will again begin to act more actively.
